Your Role and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate is a cybersecurity professional with a flair for storytelling and a passion for creating memorable experiences. With at least 10 years in the industry, they must bring both technical know-how and a creative approach to the table, transforming complex scenarios into engaging, immersive simulations that captivate both executives and technical teams alike. This candidate thrives in front of an audience, can pivot seamlessly between client needs, and loves staying ahead of industry trends to keep each exercise fresh and relevant. Active Secret Clearance is required (Top Secret? Even better), and they’re ready to make a real impact while traveling up to 50% of the time. The IBM X-Force Cyber Range Executive Advisor (Facilitator) role is a senior role that is all about bringing critical business challenges to life through immersive, unforgettable experiences for clients. You’ll collaborate closely with external clients and our X-Force team to deliver impactful, tabletop-style simulations for both executive and/or technical teams. By guiding clients through best practices in a hands-on, engaging way, you’ll empower them to address potential threats and build resilience against a wide range of disruptions. This is a unique opportunity to make an impact in a dynamic, client-facing role that combines industry expertise with creative storytelling. This is an onsite position in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal sales teams and engage with prospective clients to effectively discuss services, assess needs, and assist in scoping tailored solutions that align with client objectives.

• Demonstrate professionalism and client-focused approach, working closely with clients to understand their unique needs and collaboratively develop customized storyboards tailored to their business and industry.

• Requires a deep understanding in cybersecurity, public speaking skills, and storytelling ability to effectively lead and engage large group exercises tailored to diverse client audiences, including executive and technical teams.

• Able to demonstrate the following core knowledge and best practices:

• Incident response

• Crisis, emergency, and risk management (e.g. ISO 22361, FEMA ICS, FAIR)

• Business continuity, disaster recovery, data privacy/regulatory reporting

• Public relations/communications best practices

• Knowledge of APT tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), along with deep understanding of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and threat intelligence

• Remains current on industry trends by keeping up with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices to ensure exercises are relevant, realistic, and aligned with industry standards

• Work collaboratively within a team environment, fostering open communication and coordination to deliver seamless, high-impact client engagements.

• Encouraged to think creatively and develop innovative ideas that enhance the immersion and impact for a memorable client experience.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

. An active Secret clearance (Top Secret is preferred)

• 10 Years of experience in cybersecurity industry

• Public speaking to technical and executive audiences

• Experience leading cybersecurity exercises for technical and executive audiences

• Knowledge of best practices within cybersecurity incident response

• Knowledge of best practices in crisis management (e.g. ISO 22361, FEMA ICS)

• Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• An active Top Secret clearance

• 15 Years of experience in cybersecurity industry

• 5 Years of experience in Incident Response Consulting in Client Facing Roles

• Experience with advanced technologies, including war gaming, operational technology (OT), artificial intelligence (AI)
